Three composed faces sit on top, and underneath them the same person comes apart into a crowd. The calm at the head is real, but it is the smallest part of the picture. Most of the surface is the mass below, the selves that did not get chosen, still talking, still watching with their separate eyes. The split is not a clean line. It is a sediment.ثلاثة وجوه هادئة تجلس في الأعلى، وتحتها يتفكك الشخص نفسه إلى حشد. الهدوء في الأعلى حقيقي، لكنه أصغر جزء في الصورة. معظم السطح هو الكتلة في الأسفل، الذوات التي لم تُختَر، ما زالت تتكلم، وما زالت تراقب بعيونها المنفصلة. الانقسام ليس خطًا واضحًا. إنه ترسّب.
The faces at the bottom have more life in them than the three at the top. The painting knows this and does not try to fix it.
